Selected Accomplishments:

  • As the Lieutenant for the Operations & Academics Section, responsible for:
    • Managing a $686,000 budget for training and equipping MNPD recruits, and training staff.
    • Supervising the training of approximately 55 – 85 recruits for a 22 week Police Academy. The MNPD typically conducts two Basic Recruit Classes per year.
    • Supervising the planning, coordinating, and scheduling of In-Service Training (IST) for approximately 1,430 sworn personnel. The training incorporates a blend of on-line training, in person training, two separate firearm qualifications, and diagnostic physical fitness testing.
  • As Property Crimes Lieutenant, was responsible for:
    • Being the MNPD’s subject matter expert on property crimes. Directly supervised the Fraud Unit, Auto Theft Unit, and Pawn Shop Unit which consisted of two sergeants, 15 detectives, and three civilian personnel.
    • Beginning program of conducting criminal investigations of locations receiving stolen goods or selling counterfeit merchandise, to include seizure of goods and financial assets. Program worked due to positive partnerships with private organizations.
    • Creating environment where detectives began using case management software more efficiently.
  • As the leader of the Honor Guard, played a key role in the planning, coordinating, and conducting of a line-of-duty funeral for MNPD officer 210 miles away from Nashville that involved six police agencies, three fire departments, the U.S. Army, and two funeral homes.
  • As sergeant in Domestic Violence Division, was responsible for reviewing and assigning incident reports for investigation, completing statistical reports, and responding to officer involved incidents as needed.
  • As sergeant of a Flex Team, was responsible for conducting operations that reduced crime, fear of crime, disorder, and improved community quality of life issues in support of the precinct commander’s vision.
